Dear ${Customer_Name},
We hope your holiday season is off to a great start. Even though the year is winding down, we’ve seen an increase in phishing scams this holiday season. We’re reaching out to share some simple steps you can take to ensure that your online accounts are protected:
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
We strongly recommend you enable 2FA to add an additional layer of security to your account, beyond just your username and password. You can activate your 2FA method by visiting your Security Dashboard. Binance.US supports two 2FA methods: Google Authenticator (Recommended) and SMS Authentication. - Review Your Passwords
New year, new password. We recommend you update your passwords at least once every six months. While updating your password is optional, you can click here to create a new one. Just be sure to create a strong, random password that can’t easily be guessed. We require passwords to contain a minimum of eight characters, one uppercase, and one number. - Set an Anti-Phishing Code
Did you know that fraudulent emails account for a majority of phishing attempts? The Binance.US Anti-Phishing Code feature allows you to set a unique password or code that appears on the top of all inbound email communications from Binance.US, which allows you to verify that the email communications you are receiving are authentic. - Carefully Monitor Your Account Activity Binance.US makes it easy to review account activity for suspicious activity. Log in and visit the Security Dashboard to monitor logins from unknown devices/locations, recent transaction history, and ensure that no API keys have been created without your knowledge.
- Recognize & Avoid Phishing Scams Always avoid clicking links or answering emails/messages from unknown senders. No member of the Binance.US team will ever solicit money, ask you to send your crypto to an external wallet, or ask for your password. If you ever need to verify whether you’re speaking with a Binance.US representative, our 24/7 Customer Support is always available to help.
