World Password Day May 05, 2022 17:14 Updated We at Binance.US put a lot of care into keeping your crypto safe. Our technology is world-class and our team is constantly scanning for potential threats to safeguard the platform. That’s why Binance.US has never experienced any security breaches … ever! Even though we offer vault-grade security, we also strongly recommend you to take additional steps to protect your assets. In honor of World Password Day, take a minute to secure your account from potential threats. 🔑 5 Keys To Crypto Security 1. Strong passwords aren’t born. They’re made. Create a strong password with a minimum of eight characters, one uppercase letter and one number — preferably include symbols as well. For maximum security, consider getting a password manager to generate a randomized 16-character password. 2. Don’t reuse the same password for multiple accounts.Never share your passwords or reuse an existing password. Using the same password twice or more will put you at increased risk, as bad actors who seize your information on one platform may suddenly have more access than you anticipated. Remember to avoid storing your passwords and private keys if you’re using a shared account on iCloud or Android Cloud. If you’re using crypto apps or wallets on your mobile device, consider turning off cloud backups entirely, as bad actors only need to gain access to your cloud storage account to view your account login information. 3. Use 2-factor authentication to verify it’s you. No matter how secure your password is, it’s a good idea to enable 2-factor authentication. Choose from app-based Google Authentication (recommended) or text-message-based SMS Authentication to add an extra layer of security to your account. 4. Don’t get catfished. Stay safe online and IRL. Protect yourself from bad actors. Some may claim to be from our “listings team” or other Binance.US entity. Our email servers support Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and DomainKeys Identified Email (DKIM) email authentication methods — email clients that enforce these standards will help filter suspicious incoming messages. You may receive unsolicited text messages, emails, or social media messages urging you to log into your account. Carefully check the URL to make sure there are no misspellings or better yet, only access Binance.US via the official mobile app or a trustworthy link that you’ve bookmarked. 5. Deposit & withdraw crypto with care. If you’re sending or receiving crypto, make sure you copy and paste the wallet address, check it letter-by-letter to ensure it is correct, and verify that you’re sending or receiving funds to the correct wallet address. We will be unable to recover tokens sent to the wrong network address. For more information on the networks that Binance.US supports, consult our full list of supported assets and networks.
