Which 1099 forms does Binance.US issue?
Binance.US may issue the following forms depending on your account activity:
Form 1099-MISC
You will receive Form 1099-MISC if you earned:
$600 or more from eligible income sources such as staking or referral rewards during the tax year
For the 2026 tax filing year and beyond, the reporting threshold increases to $2,000
Important:
1099-MISC reports eligible income only (such as rewards).
It does not include trading gains or general transaction activity.
Form 1099-DA
You will receive Form 1099-DA if you:
Sold digital assets
Exchanged digital assets
Spent digital assets
There is no minimum dollar threshold for 1099-DA. Any qualifying transaction may trigger issuance.
Why didn’t I receive a 1099?
If you do not see a 1099 in your account, it generally means you did not meet the eligibility criteria.
Common reasons:
You earned less than the required threshold for 1099-MISC.
You did not sell, exchange, or spend digital assets (for 1099-DA).
The form has not yet been released (see availability timeline below).
If you do not qualify, a 1099 form will not be generated.
When are 1099 forms available?
Tax forms are typically available:
Before mid-February following the end of the tax year.
If you believe you qualify and do not see your form after mid-February, please contact support.
How do I download my 1099?
You can download your tax forms from your Binance.US account.
On Web:
Go to Export Reports
Select Tax Reports
Choose the year
Select the form type (1099-MISC or 1099-DA)
On Mobile:
Tap the Profile icon
Select Reports
Tap Tax Reports
Choose the year and form type
Only eligible forms will appear for download.
Why doesn’t my 1099 match my transaction history?
1099 forms and transaction reports serve different purposes.
1099-MISC reports specific income types (e.g., staking or referral rewards).
1099-DA reflects qualifying digital asset dispositions.
Transaction history reports include broader trading activity.
Because of these differences, totals may not match your full transaction history.
When comparing reports:
Ensure the same date range is selected.
Confirm you are reviewing the same transaction categories.
Can Binance.US issue a letter confirming I didn’t receive a 1099?
No. Binance.US does not provide custom letters stating that a 1099 was not issued.
You may download your transaction history or tax report from your account for your records.
How do I access tax forms from previous years?
You must generate each year's form individually in the Tax Reports section.
Notes:
Custom date ranges cannot exceed 12 months.
If a prior year does not appear, you may not have met eligibility criteria for that year.
I deleted my account. Can I still access my tax forms?
Yes. After identity verification, Support may assist with retrieving tax documents from a closed account.
