How we calculate Profit and Loss (P&L)
How we calculate Profit and Loss (P&L)
Updated over 5 months ago

Your Profit and Loss (P&L) comprises your Realized P&L (complete activities) and Unrealized P&L (incomplete activities). However, you will only see your total P&L (the sum of the two) in your account.

  • Realized P&L = (transaction price - average purchase price) x amount held

  • Unrealized P&L = (current price - average purchase price) x amount hold

Rewards are not included in the P&L and will be displayed separately soon. Below we explain how different account activities are calculated.

Deposits

  • The price of purchase is the market price at the moment you deposit the asset

Withdrawals (including Crypto Domain and NFT purchases)

  • The average purchase price remains the same after withdrawing

  • Any fees are added to the withdrawal price

  • P&L is updated as there’s a new total amount of the asset

Buy (including Convert, Spot Trading, and OTC)

  • For multiple purchases of the same asset, the weighted average of historical prices is used

  • Any fees are counted as a loss

Sell (including Convert, Spot Trading, and OTC)

  • The average purchase price remains the same after selling

  • Any fees are added to the sell price

  • P&L is updated as there’s a new total amount of the asset

Staking

  • Rewards are added to your balance and not counted towards P&L

Pay

  • Treated as withdrawals for senders and deposits for recipients

Note: Calculations may reflect sub-cent rounding.
