What is Flow (FLOW)?
Flow is a layer-1 blockchain designed with the intention of being the technical foundation for games, apps and digital assets. It was created by Dapper Labs, the team behind NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties.
Flow was created for developers to create empowering experiences for users. Flow utilizes a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, which results in a carbon-friendly network. In fact, minting an NFT on Flow costs less carbon than creating a social media post.
The Flow protocol integrates with Shopify and supports multiple NFT marketplaces, so users can easily buy, sell and store their digital collectibles.
The native token, "FLOW", is a low-inflation and low-circulating-supply asset that is used by validators, developers, and users to participate in the FLOW network and earn rewards. It is used to transfer fees, to serve as collateral for secondary tokens on Flow, to deploy nodes, and to participate in future protocol governance.
