What are Crypto Domains?
Crypto Domains allow you to replace complicated wallet addresses with a custom domain name that you can use to send, request, and receive crypto directly to your Binance.US wallet. This reduces errors and greatly simplifies the transaction process, making sending crypto as easy as entering a URL into an address bar.
With a custom domain you can also begin carving out a digital identity and branded presence for yourself within the crypto space. We’re proud to have partnered with Unstoppable Domains, a leader in the crypto domain industry.
Unlike regular web domains, there are no renewal fees, and you can own the domain name in the form of an NFT.
What are the requirements for using Crypto Domains?
To be eligible to use Crypto Domains, you need to:
- Complete Basic Verification. This means you’ve submitted your contact information, SSN, and address details and have been approved to use basic features like Convert, or Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals.
- Reside in eligible U.S. states (view unsupported states here).
If you’re eligible, you can learn how to get started with claiming a domain by visiting our Crypto Domain ‘How-to’ guide.
What is the pricing like? How can I pay?
Crypto domains are generally very cost effective compared to traditional web domains, starting at just $10 (in USDT). Plus, unlike traditional domains, there are no renewal fees. You only pay once to claim your domain.
Please note that we currently only accept USDT payments (with prices set in USD equivalents regardless of the USDT price).
The following table provides an outline of our Crypto Domain pricing model.
Tier | Price (letters only) | Price (with a number) | Price (with numbers only) | Description |
0-1 | Reserved | Reserved | Reserved | Reserved domains for special events |
2 | $2,000 (in USDT) | $1,250 (in USDT) | $2,000 (in USDT) | 2 character domains |
3 | $2,000 (in USDT) | $500 (in USDT) | $500 (in USDT) | 3 character domains |
4 | $1,200 (in USDT) | $300 (in USDT) | $150 (in USDT) | 4 character domains |
5 | $400 (in USDT) | $100 (in USDT) | $50 (in USDT) | 5 character domains |
6 | $100 (in USDT) | $25 (in USDT) | $10 (in USDT) | 6 character domains |
7 | $40 (in USDT) | $10 (in USDT) | $10 (in USDT) | 7 character domains |
8 | $20 (in USDT) | $10 (in USDT) | $10 (in USDT) | 8+ character domains |
What cryptocurrencies are compatible with domain transactions?
Currently around 50+ cryptocurrencies are compatible for deposits and withdrawals using domains. However, to avoid any potential losses it is very important that you verify for yourself whether or not the cryptocurrency you are attempting to withdraw to or deposit from is supported.
A full list of supported cryptocurrencies is available here.
Can I use the domain to withdraw to Binance.US from any application?
Unstoppable Domains, (our Crypto Domain partner), maintains a growing list of 800+ supported crypto applications that you can use your domain to withdraw from instead of a wallet address. You can access the full list of supported applications here.
Can I resell my .binanceus domain or transfer the domain's underlying NFT?
These domains are specially designed to be automatically integrated into the Binance.US app. This provides you with a seamless experience, but it means that you cannot sell or transfer your .binanceus domain to another wallet.
The primary purpose of your crypto domain is to dramatically simplify your transaction process, while adding style and customization to your profile in the crypto space. The underlying NFT which identifies your domain name is co-managed and held in custody by our partners at Unstoppable Domains. These underlying NFTs cannot be transferred. Additional possibilities for use may be added in the future.
Are the domains only available for use on the Binance.US mobile app?
During the initial launch of Crypto Domains on Binance.US, you will only be able to purchase and change your primary domain (via the ‘My Crypto Domain’ homepage) using our mobile app.
However, you can still use that domain to easily send and receive crypto to your wallet instead of a crypto address on the web once you’ve claimed a domain on the app. You can also view a full list of external applications that support sending to your Binance.US using your claimed domain here.
We expect to launch full domain functionality on the web in the near future.
Is my domain an NFT? Why don’t I see it in my NFT wallet?
Yes! Each crypto domain is a unique NFT, which is part of the reason there are no renewal fees.
While your domain name is linked to your Binance.US wallet, your NFT is managed by both Binance.US and Unstoppable Domains, our partner and one of the leading providers and custodians of NFT and crypto domains in the space. Unstoppable Domains also store the NFTs in their custody.
The NFT itself is on the Polygon (MATIC) network, an exciting layer-2 platform that offers full compatibility with the Ethereum network while taking advantage of faster speeds and much lower costs. All network or gas fees incurred by the use of your NFT are covered by Unstoppable Domains, so there are no additional fees for using your domain over a traditional wallet address.
How do I get started claiming my domain(s)?
Getting started with claiming a domain is easy. The first step is to search to see which of your ideal domains are available.
Head over to our ‘How-To’ Guide to learn how to do so now and start your journey away from complicated wallet addresses and towards a simple and branded domain name.
How do I use a domain to send or receive crypto?
You can view our Crypto Domain ‘How-To’ Guide for easy to follow step-by-step instructions on how to send and receive crypto using a domain, as well as how to search and claim a domain, set or change your primary domain, and check cryptocurrencies supported for use with domains.
Can I have more than one domain?
Yes, you’re free to have as many domains as you like. Your domains will all remain tied to your Binance.US wallet addresses (for supported cryptocurrencies), meaning you can add new domains without losing the functionality of the others. It’s easy to manage your domains and set a primary domain that you’d like to automatically use as the default, if you choose.
Visit our Crypto Domain ‘How-to’ Guide for easy-to-follow instructions on managing your domains, including how to set and change your primary domain.
I have a crypto domain from another platform, can I use it on Binance.US?
Unfortunately not. Our wallet system is only set up to support our native domains ending in .binanceus at the moment. There is a possibility of this expanding in the future.
Are there any other fees besides the purchase price?
No, there are no renewal fees, and gas fees for your domains NFT are covered by our partners at Unstoppable Domains. When using the domain for sending and receiving crypto, the same fees apply as for regular address crypto deposits and withdrawals.
How do I view & manage my domain(s)?
Visit our ‘How-to’ Guide for detailed instructions on viewing and managing your domain(s).
Can I still use my regular wallet addresses as well?
Yes, your address still remains valid even if it is bound to a domain. In this case, both your domain and your regular address will be supported and available for use.
Do I need to do anything to bind the domain to my wallet addresses?
No, all purchased domains on Binance.US will automatically be bound to your wallet for supported cryptocurrencies. Be sure to double check that the cryptocurrency is supported for use with domains, to avoid any loss of funds.
If you have more than one domain, you may need to manually change the ‘primary’ domain (i.e. your default-use domain, however you can still use your other domains manually). You can view instructions on updating your primary domain here.
Can I gift a domain to someone else?
Unfortunately, this feature is not available at this time.
Are the Domains searchable or publicly available?
Yes, crypto domains are both searchable and publicly available. All the records are shown on-chain.
