Staking is one of the most popular ways for crypto holders to grow their funds without having to seek profits through trading. By staking assets on Binance.US Staking, customers pledge to contribute funds to support the operations of a blockchain network, which delivers rewards (typically in the form of tokens) as a way to incentivize longer-term token holding.
Binance.US simplifies the staking process, allowing customers to stake in a few clicks. While the platform will facilitate all staking operations on a technical level, rewards accrued through staking are passed on to participating customers. Staking terms can be found in our Terms of Use.
What is staking?
Cryptocurrency staking allows customers to earn passive income on their existing cryptocurrency holdings. Like the name suggests, cryptocurrency staking is typically, but not always, available on assets that use the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism.
Here’s how it works: When a user stakes crypto, they commit their assets toward securing the asset’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network. As long as the assets remain staked, they’re used to verify transactions on the network, facilitate decentralized governance, and improve the network’s resilience.
To incentivize staking, the network generates rewards through newly created block rewards and/or transaction fees collected from circulating assets.
Independent cryptocurrency staking can be a daunting process for most individuals. In addition to meeting hardware requirements that may vary from asset to asset, users may also need to install and run their own nodes. That’s where Binance.US Staking comes in. With a user-friendly interface and industry-leading uptime across nodes, Staking is the destination of choice for customers looking to earn rewards on their assets.
What are the rewards when it comes to staking?
Rewards earned via staking usually come in the form of additional tokens that accrue during the staking period. However, rates (typically calculated in the form of APY) may vary depending on the cryptocurrency, network conditions, and staking configurations.
APY in the Binance.US Staking context refers to the rate of return customers can expect to receive on a staked asset. Please note that the APY for cryptocurrencies will vary based on several factors, including supply and demand.
Where possible, Binance.US strives to offer the highest APYs possible on the widest selection of assets. In addition, while customers can earn APY on their initial staked assets, the USD value of the crypto asset itself will also fluctuate.
Are there fees for staking on Binance.US?
Published APY rates are estimates that are calculated based on the average APY accrued over the past 90 days. Actual on-chain staking APYs vary depending on the staked asset supply, network demand, or in some circumstances, proposed protocol changes voted in by the community.
Binance.US takes a small commission in exchange for facilitating all technical staking requirements, while striving to offer class-leading APYs for all supported cryptocurrencies on Binance.US Staking.

When will I receive my staking rewards?
Once assets have been staked, customers will begin to earn staking rewards at a steady rate, which may vary based on our published APY estimates and asset-specific network conditions. All rewards are calculated daily and distributed on a weekly basis.
Customers can withdraw accrued staking rewards immediately or use our Auto-Restake feature to further increase their yields by “restaking” their staking rewards each week — available on select assets.
Can I access my funds while staking? Is there a lock-up period?
While staking rewards will be distributed according to the schedule customers agree to upon staking, customers can only access or withdraw their full or partial principal staked assets once 1) they unstake and 2) the unstaking period is complete, which may vary depending on the network.
While customers can stake or unstake anytime, with no lockup periods, please note that due to the rules that govern the blockchain network, customers are unable to access or withdraw their staked assets, nor will they be able to earn staking rewards until the unstaking period is complete. The unstaking period refers to the time taken for assets to unbond, which may vary depending on the network.
