What is ApeCoin (APE)?
APE is an ERC-20 token released by the ApeCoin DAO that serves as the governance and utility token for the APE ecosystem. Token holders can submit and vote on proposals for the DAO’s Ecosystem Fund allocations, governance rules, projects, partnerships, and beyond.
In addition to the governance aspect, APE offers token holders additional utility in the form of a membership pass functionality that grants users access to games, services, and events across the APE ecosystem. APE also serves as a community incentive, allowing token holders to earn APE through grants approved by ApeCoin DAO members. Finally, APE will be used as the native currency for play to earn (P2E) platforms within the BAYC ecosystem. While users can buy APE from digital asset platforms like Binance.US, APE will also be airdropped to existing BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFT holders.
