This article offers insights on withdrawal restrictions and unavailable balances

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Occasionally, you may encounter an notification stating that a portion of your assets are unavailable or unable to be withdrawn. This article explains this message and what to do in the event that you encounter it.

Why is a portion of my balance unable to be withdrawn?

Binance.US offers convenience by pre-crediting accounts when depositing via ACH.

This enables you to trade with your funds faster, without having to wait for the full settlement period. The connected payment method will be charged within 7 days from the date the deposit was initiated.

Note: This means that although you will be able to trade with your funds on the platform, you will not be able to withdraw the USD equivalent of this deposit (including the equivalent sum in crypto) for 7 days after initiating an ACH deposit.

After this 7 day period, you will be free to withdraw your funds or their crypto equivalent.

To calculate the hold amount, simply subtract the total USD value of deposits on hold from your account's total USD value at any time.

Why does it take 7 days for a deposit to be available for withdrawal?

Traditional fiat (USD) transactions, such as ACH deposits, take time to be processed. Because of this, we pre-credit your account with the deposit amount, and then work to settle it with your bank over the next 7 days.

We apologize for any inconvenience. To find out how much time is remaining before you can withdraw, please visit your Wallet page, and then click on your US Dollar balance line to review your recent deposits and any remaining holds.

Why do I have an unavailable balance?

If your unavailable balance isn't related to any recent USD deposits, then it's likely caused by one of the following:

  • Your assets may be staked, or in the process of being staked/unstaked. You can review bonding/unbonding periods here.

  • You may have an open order. Tokens associated with open orders will be unavailable until the order is either fulfilled or cancelled. To cancel an open order, see here.
