If you previously disabled your account and would like to reactivate it, follow the steps below to restore access. Please ensure you have a valid government-issued ID and a mobile device with a camera ready before beginning.
If your account is disabled and you are unsure the reason, please contact our support team so they can assist you accordingly.
Common reasons for account disablement on Binance.US include unresolved negative balances, fraud alerts, unsupported state residency, and failed identity verification. The following sections will provide detailed guidance about addressing these concerns.
Additionally, an account may shift statuses like active, inactive, or dormant based on login and transaction activity. For example, inactivity for over two years may lead to dormancy and escheatment processes if the patterns persist.
Please note that the Self-Serve Account Reactivation process is currently available via web browsers only. If you are using our mobile app, please log in through a mobile or desktop browser to begin.
I self-disabled my Binance.US account and want to reactivate it, how can I do so?
Enter your Username and Password on the login screen.
Complete the 2FA security check. If you do not have access to your 2FA, please follow the "How to reset two-factor authentication" guide.
Once on the reactivation screen, review the provided success tips and information regarding security limits and the prevention of duplicate accounts.
Click on Begin Verification.
Scan the QR code with your mobile device to move the process to your phone.
Follow the Identity Confirmation steps on your mobile device; you will need to provide a photo of a valid government-issued ID.
If you need to resume a previous verification process, you can log in again and click Restart this step to continue the flow.
Wait for the system to review your information. Do not close or refresh the page during this time, as it may delay your verification.
Once the review is complete, the app will display your status; if successful, click Go to Login to access your account, or if the process fails, select the option to contact support for further assistance.
Avoid creating a duplicate account if your original account is still deactivated, as Binance.US will not assist while the original account exists. Binance.US allows only one account per user to maintain security and compliance with platform rules. Any attempt to create a duplicate account to circumvent account deactivation will result in rejection of the duplicate account.
Account Status and Inactivity Management
Understanding account statuses is essential. Statuses like 'active,' 'inactive,' or 'dormant' provide insight into how consistent activity affects account usability. Addressing inactivity promptly can prevent dormancy and associated risks like escheatment.
Another factor could be dormancy resulting from prolonged periods of inactivity, which may lead to temporary account locking or balance escheatment in compliance with state laws.
My Binance.US account has been restricted and I did not self-disable it, how can I restore it?
If your Binance.US account has been unexpectedly disabled or restricted, it might be due to reasons such as unsettled negative balances, fraud alerts, unsupported state residency, or failed identity verification.
Unsettled Negative Balance: A chargeback or negative balance might require settlement. You can resolve the negative balance by depositing cryptocurrency or using third-party providers to purchase USDT and cover the amount. Once resolved, restrictions lift automatically.
Fraud Alert: Temporary fraud alerts might require confirmation via the support team to clear flags and restore your account.
Unsupported State Residency: Residents in unsupported states cannot access accounts; moving to a supported state allows for reactivation upon verification.
Failed Identity Verification: If disabled shortly after creation, provide additional verification documents as guided in emails from Binance.US or contact support. For assistance, please contact our support team and follow this guide. If login errors persist, ensure your email and password are correct, and consider using incognito mode to contact support. The Binance.US team will review your application once all issues are resolved.
SSN Limitations: Binance.US enforces a one-account-per-Social Security Number (SSN) rule, and no new account can be created under the same SSN if the original account was removed.
Dormancy: Accounts left inactive for three years may become dormant, leading to balances being transferred to the state as unclaimed property. Logging in periodically can prevent this.
Geographic Restrictions and Account Access
Binance.US does not operate in all areas. To verify if your state is supported, check the list of geographically restricted areas here. If you move from an unsupported state to a supported one, update your information and request account reactivation. Stay informed via the Binance.US Twitter or their Announcements Page.
Binance.US vs. Binance.com Accounts
Accounts on Binance.US and Binance.com are managed separately. For accounts created on Binance.com, Binance.US support cannot assist with reactivation or password reset issues. Contact Binance.comโs support team here for assistance.
